I did something last night that I haven't done for a long while.
It started out innocently and with the best of intentions while I painted my nails:
Read for an hour, let the polish dry and be in bed by 10:00.
Next thing I knew it was after midnight.
The nails were dry.
The book was finished.
It was a very satisfying tale.

I just read her book The Forgotten Garden while traveling. OK for a travel read but not wonderful.
I've read several other titles by Morton and have had that same reaction. I guess I keep trying hoping this might be the one that pulls all her promise together...When I saw this new one I almost passed - glad I didn't.
